AN INTRODUCTION...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Retired, but not too retiring, a work still in progress.
I enjoy many things: Music (making it & appreciating it), balance (within myself, in my relationships, and in my world), Tai Chi, cooking (especially for friends), Dancing, Karaoke!, teaching, mentoring, reading, some crafts...and trying daring things on my birthdays.
I've been single, married, now widowed.
I thought I was straight; found out I'm not; am happy about it.
Believed in God, then god, then Universe; now I'm atheist and still mad about the indoctrination that has had me in therapy for decades...
Happy just being stardust until or unless I find out differently.
This blog has evolved over time...wow, nearly 20 years! Now, since I don't do most social media anymore, this is still a place for my thoughts, but also a place to put great music or dances or speeches.
Who's more moral, religionists or secularists? And why?
"Do godless people have values?"
My early childhood experience was in a fundamental evangelical family environment, complicated by my Mom's divorce before I was three - 1950. Indoctrination was complete on a few fronts:
* Patriarchal evangelism tied me to a static mindset that limited my horizons & my ability to think critically. This indoctrination was thorough and affected my decisions for decades.
* Mom (reared in a similar environment) taught me everything there was to know about guilt, shame, & judgement.
I thought we were 'good people'. And we were nice. We looked good. Many of us did some good here & there, but I did not learn charity or inclusion or anything at all about the value of my current human life. My intelligence was down-played, and my educational choices limited...in all the ways that indoctrination works.
