I've got opinions, too.
The first one being this: We, the people, have crossed the line into equating opinion with fact. We already know that Everyone has opinions. But now people choose to be offended if someone disagrees with an opinion they hold.
Some of us believe that our religious beliefs are somehow different than other opinions, but they are not.
Opinions are defined this way:
"A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof: synonym: view." (The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition.)
or this:
"belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge". (Merriam-Webster)
or this:
"a thought or belief about something or someone". (Cambridge English Dictionary)
Facts, on the other hand, are defined this way:
"Knowledge or information based on real occurrences."
or this:
"something that has actual existence", "an actual occurrence".
or this:
"something that is known to have happened or to exist, especially something for which proof exists"
(same 3 sources)
I'll be back.
