Alan is shipboard in the Mediterranean, singing & dancing and soaking up the sun. What a life for our boy these days! :) Here's the latest news: a synopsis of the various shows he's doing throughout the next 6 months.
FROM ALAN:
In Town Tonight (one of the audience's favorites) opens with songs from
Spamalot!, the Monty Python Musical, Then has two songs from Chicago, Followed
by a few From Phantom of the Opera (where I sing the phantom's part),
Then
we do a few ABBA songs from the Mamma Mia!, and We finish up with songs from Les
Mis.
Live And Swingin' (one we don't do very often despite the audience
really liking it) has songs like:
Mack The Knife, The Lady is a Tramp, Amore,
Volare, and An Evening in Roma,
Birth of the Blues (my big solo in the show),
Feelin' Good, and other Sinatra-type stuff
Fun-Al-Fresco (the deck show we do outside) has Uptown Girl (my solo), Earth
Wind & Fire Medley,
Chain Reaction, Summer Breeze, Lovely Day, I would walk
500 miles, Danicing in the Street, and other feel-good songs of that ilk.
Basically popular music from the 70s-90s. Good fun dancing with the passengers
after the show (we did that one last night)
Oceana Rocks (tonight's show) has Money for nothing, Still haven't
found what i'm looking for, Livin on a Prayer, Rosanna, Final Countdown, I
don't like mondays, Black Betty, and some other fun numbers.
My solos are
Rosanna, and a song called I am the one and only.
Rock on! Swingin' 60's (the one i told you about with Tiny tim) let me just reiterrate that playing Elvis to a room full of people who saw him on television when he was alive is a huge rush. i didn't know i could do such a good Elvis impression!
The Big Picture (probably the audience's favorite) Starts out with West Side Story (where I play tony) then goes into Cabaret, then Sound of Music, then Sweet Charity, then My Fair Lady, and Hello Dolly and we finish with Oklahoma! (where i'm the main soloist) i think it is my favorite show as you would probably expect.
Strictly Dancing (the one i learned to irish tap for) I sing the solo for footloose, and then there are tons of different types of dance throughout then towards the end the guys come on in tutus and dance the signet part of swan lake. the audience always crack up and it goes down very well.
I Write the Songs (the Elton John, Barry Manilow, and Peter Allen one) alternates between ballads and uptempo songs. my solos are I write the Songs, and One Voice, and my duets are Your Song and Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting.
Sounds like fun to me! Now if we can win a lottery, we'll fly somewhere and join the cruise.
